Nik from Rooted Leaf (use code growcast) is back on the show for
another cannabis nutrition deep dive! Today Nik joins the program
and discusses how calcium is taken up and deposited by the plant,
and what that means for cannabis growers. He contrasts this
nutrient cycle to something like phosphorous, which requires less
reapplication and isn't deposited into the plant structure the same
way. This leads to a conversation about the different pathways that
nutrients and plant phenols take, and how flavonoid production
plays into the nutritional cycle. Nik talks about flavonoids, what
they are, how they're produced, and how they end up affecting the
